Automated Game Update Notification System
Problem
In response to my supervisor's request to enhance communication regarding game changes across various sports divisions for interns, a notable challenge emerged. The frequent game updates posed a difficulty for interns to stay adequately informed in a timely manner.
Solution
In an effort to improve efficiency, I sought to establish an automated notification system, ensuring immediate updates for interns whenever the League Coordinator made changes to the Master Schedules. I used Google Apps Script and ChatGPT to develop a code for automatic email alerts on changes in the "game update" column and ensure that interns stay informed.
Outcome
The code was tailored for four sports divisions in the Master Schedules. In the month of February alone, about 30 Game Update Notification emails were sent , covering about 20 for High School and 10 for Middle School/Elementary sports divisions. Positive feedback from the interns ensued, showcasing the success of the streamlined process.
